UGANDA

BASE IN A VILLAGE BETWEEN KAMPALA AND ENTEBEE

Uganda
VOLUNTEERING

In the heart of the village, the Center was established in partnership with local principals to provide enrichment programming to students during and after school hours.

Volunteers at the center provide a variety of experiential and empowering content in the fields of art, science, outdoor games, group activities, thinking games and more.

 

 

South Africa Volunteer
ACCOMMODATIONS

Volunteers share a communal house on the banks of the Victoria River. The living area has clean water, a vegetarian kitchen, a well-equipped dining room, toilets, showers, an activity room and a communal yard.

MEXICO

BASE IN SAN FRANCISCO AYOTUXCO OUTSIDE MEXICO CITY

VOLUNTEERING

The Center uses the field of informal education to provide enrichment educational programming to the children of the city of San Francisco Ayotuxco and its surroundings.

The activities in the Center are varied and revolve around the fields of art, group activities, thinking games and more.

Volunteers in Mexico ideally possess basic Spanish language skills with additional language training provided.

Mexico Volunteer
ACCOMMODATIONS

Volunteers share a communal house located on the outskirts of Mexico City. Individual bedrooms accommodate 4-6 volunteers, and each room has a toilet, shower, and hot water. The house has a laundry room, a living room and a fully equipped vegetarian kitchen. Volunteers can spend time in the yard or on the roof of the house overlooking the beautiful valley.

NEARBY ADVENTURES

Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the world and boasts the largest population in North America. In and out of the city there are hundreds of heritage sites, hiking trails, museums, parks, restaurants, and attractions. Within a few hours drive or flight there are world-class hiking trails, stunning beaches, and a rich cultural life.

GHANA

BASE IN WINNEBA ON THE ATLANTIC OCEAN COAST

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers facilitate art activities, thinking games, a mobile library, health education, a leadership program, and computer training within the classroom and in the afternoon outside of school.

A farm is adjacent to the Center and is another space for collaboration with local schools. Volunteers and local youth are exposed to advanced irrigation systems, greenhouse agriculture, composting, recycling and environmental protection concepts.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Volunteers share a communal house with up to four volunteers per bedroom. The living quarters are spacious, with a living room that serves as both a communal space and a place for workshops and gatherings, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. In addition, volunteers can enjoy the yard and wide lawns, from which they can overlook spectacular sunsets.

SOUTH AFRICA

BASE IN DURBAN ON THE COAST AND VOLUNTEER IN INANDA

Durban
VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers collaborate with teachers to organize enrichment activities in elementary and middle schools. After school, volunteers provide open programming in the fields of art, social activities, thinking games, sports, and music.

Volunteers also meet with high schoolers to promote a love for learning and to organize chess games, etc.

Volunteering opportunities are also possible within the city of Durban with the local Jewish community.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Volunteers share a communal house located in a section of Durban known for its safety. Individual bedrooms accommodate 4-6 volunteers. The home provides clean water and features a vegetarian kitchen, a fully-equipped dining room, toilets, showers, a washing machine and a pleasant living room.

NEARBY ADVENTURES

Two hours from the Center are the magnificent safari park reserves of Hluhluwe and Phezulu, the landlocked country of Lesotho, Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve, and the Drakensberg Mountains.

Further afield, volunteers may wish to travel to Cape Town, Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, and the adjoining county of Mozambique, and much more.
